Upside Drinks was founded in 2022 by a team of four young entrepreneurs who aim to make non-alcoholic beverages accessible across the globe.
An active person from a young age, Simon has always adopted a conscious and healthy lifestyle. In January 2022, like many other he partook in the Dry January” challenge. After a difficult two years caused by the pandemic, he felt clarity and reinvigoration almost immediately- more energy, more productive and more emotionally stable. In light of this positive change, he is continuing the dry challenge for the rest of 2022 and thus moving away from excessive alcohol consumption which with further consideration didn’t align with his core values. A wine lover, he makes it his mission to find the best non-alcoholic wines that will satisfy his taste buds.
Formerly a DJ and bartender, Louis-Pier worked in the bar industry for more than a decade. His excessive personality mixed with a lifestyle that provided endless access alcohol gradually took control of his life. In September 2019, Louis-Pier decided to take back control of his life and live soberly. The positive impacts of this change were immediately felt on his body, mind, and family. Ever since, he’s specialised in crafting delicious mocktails, and he is always looking for the best non-alcoholic spirits on the market.
At 16, while
attending one of her first parties, Jade realized that she needs very little alcohol to feel its effects. One drink in and she felt inflammation and rednessin her face, heart and stomach aches, glassy eyes, etc. When trying to figure out why she felt so affected by alcohol, she discovered the term, Asian Glow. As a naturally festive person who enjoys spending time with her friends, Jade learned to consume alcohol in moderation. Good vibes in tow, Jade with bring her non-alcoholic beverages with her to parties and sticks to one alcoholic consumption if she’s in the mood. For Jade, it’s about knowing yourself. She has as much as much fun as her friends who drink but without the dreaded hangover – the best of both worlds!
A passion for craft beers developed in Gabe’s teenage years, and ever since he
loves to discover and taste artisanal beers. At 25, a dream of his came true. He found a job in a Montreal brewery, where he thrived for several years. The only downside for him was his alcohol consumption, which increases considerably. The tipping point was the pandemic and consequential sedentary lifestyle, which forced Gabe to question his relationship with alcohol. Ever since, Gabe has reduced his alcohol consumption and alternates between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers. Today, he can feel the positive impacts of
this change and continues to look for his new favorite non-alcoholic craft beer.
